Day 21 - Larry & Marge Bussa

Peggy Jolly

Read: Matthew 25:14-28

Reflect: This passage in Matthew talks about the talents God has given us. While this  passage is most likely referring to talents being money I think it could also be relevant to us if we were to think about the talents as actually being talents God has given each of us.  God has called us to be faithful with whatever talent he has given us and in return the Word says that in the future we will be made ruler over much.

Two people that come to mind as being faithful with their talents were Larry and Marg Bussa.  Larry used his banking skills to keep the finances at Mount Hope for many years. He also volunteered his time to the camp in many different capacities until his health would no longer allow it.  Marg, his wife, also worked at Mt. Hope, mostly in the area of music. She was the writer of the present theme song for Mt. Hope Bible Camp.  This song is sung every week at camp and the campers sing out loud and you can tell they really enjoy it.

Reflect: What about you?  Are you using your talents and abilities for the Lord?  Or are you too busy, or maybe too shy, or unwilling.   God has given each of us talents and abilities that he wants us to use to bring glory to himself.  Trust Him to help you use the talents and step up to what he has called you to. Even what seems the smallest of a talent or ability can be of great value to God!!

Prayer: Father God thank you for the talents you have given each of us. Help us to use these talents to being glory to you and to grow closer to you. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen
