Every summer, Mt. Hope has a handful of "summer missionaries," which basically means these selected summer staff members are eligible to raise financial support while serving in the ministry.  We have this program established to allow high school and college students the opportunity to offset higher education expenses and work at camp, too.

Applications open on November 28 and close on December 19.  
Once received, we will contact you to schedule an interview.

Background Check

TO QUALIFY AS A SUMMER MISSIONARY:

  1. You must have a growing relationship with Christ and desire to be a part of a team that is clearly communicating the Gospel of Christ.
  2. You must be 16 years old or older  by March 1, 2026 to apply and there will be no more than 12 summer missionaries selected for summer 2026.
  3. Complete an application, background check and references, as well as interview with camp staff including camp directors, Brett & Sara Wilson.
  4. By applying, you understand being selected as a summer mission does not guarantee any leadership roles in our summer camp ministry and you agree to serve wherever you are placed without complaint.  During the interview process, you also must disclose any limitations to your abilities and service this summer.

EXPECTATIONS OF A SUMMER MISSIONARY:

  1. Each summer missionary is agreeing, at minimum, to a four week work commitment (summer 2026 dates are below).  If this commitment is not fulfilled, money raised will be held until the agreement is satisfied.
  2. You will be required to complete the staff application for Mt. Hope Bible Camp and if selected, paperwork for financial accounting and donor development.  
  3. You will also be required to write a support letter and create (or have created) graphics and support video for use on social media and the camps website.
  4. If accepted, you will be paired with an adult Christian in our Mt. Hope family for a year-long mentorship.  The expectation is to meet (in person or online) briefly every week.
  5. If selected, you will also participate in a monthly book study (via online) with some of our Mt. Hope staff.  The focus of our time will be on developing leadership skills.
  6. You will be given the opportunity to “sign up” for church visits and when time allows, share your testimony with partnering churches.
  7. You are expected to write and send handwritten thank you cards to every donor who gives towards your summer missionary account, including the Mt. Hope Bible Camp board.
