Day 11 - Caleb
Read: Joshua 14:6-15
Reflect: In this passage, we see the story of Caleb, one of the twelve spies sent to explore the land of Canaan. While the other spies reported back with a negative outlook, Caleb and Joshua had faith that they could conquer the land. Caleb's faith in God's promise to give them the land is evident in his words to Joshua, "I am this day fourscore and five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in." Caleb's unwavering faith in God's promise is an inspiration to us as Christians today. It reminds us that with faith in God, we can accomplish great things.
Caleb's faith is also highlighted in the way he approached his age and his strength, he acknowledged that he was getting older but he believed that his strength came from God and he still had the same strength as before. He trusted that God would fulfill His promise to him.
Respond: Take a moment to reflect on areas of your life where you may be doubting God's promises or your own ability to accomplish something. Challenge yourself to have the same kind of faith as Caleb, to trust in God's promises and to have confidence in your own ability to accomplish great things with God's help. Remember Caleb's unwavering faith and be encouraged to trust in God and His promises for your life.
