Day 45 - Nehemiah
Read: Nehemiah 1:4-6; 9:4
Reflect: When Nehemiah heard of the news that Jerusalem’s walls were broken down and the gates burned with fire it says in (Nehemiah. 1:4) he “..sat down and wept and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven." even when his heart was broke and hurting for his people/city, he prayed to his God. (Nehemiah. 1:6) He prays this prayer “day and night”
Nehemiah trusted God even in times of trial and heart break. He prayed, and remained faithful through it all. Nehemiah prayed for Gods will and guidance, which we need to do more often nowadays. Nehemiah listened to Gods call to rebuild the Jerusalem Walls. He trusted in God and didn’t doubt and Gods will was exactly what Nehemiah needed.
After everything was going well Nehemiah made sure to give God the praise (Nehemiah 9:3) “..confessed and worshiped Lord their God” (Nehemiah 9:4) “… cried with a loud voice unto the Lord their God”
Respond: Like Nehemiah we too go through trials and we too get broken down. We feel like our world is on fire and falling apart. But when we pray in times of struggle land when we pray through all the heart break like Nehemiah did, God will be with us. God has a purpose, and his plan is always perfect. When we give it all to him and trust in his plan, everything works for the better.
