Day 38 - Sarah

Olivia Maple

Read: Genesis 18:11-14

Reflect: Sarah’s story is one of waiting on God’s promises. Sarah, who had been barren her whole life, was told by God that she would bear a son in her old age. Like anyone would be, she was initially skeptical. Despite her doubts and fears, she continued to trust in God and had faith in God’s promises. She held onto the hope that God would fulfill His promises to her, even though it seemed impossible.

Waiting on God’s promises can be challenging, especially when we don’t understand why things are taking so long. It requires patience, perseverance, and deep trust in God. But as we see in Sarah’s story, when we hold onto our faith in His promises, He is faithful to fulfill his promises.

Reflect: As Christians, we often have to experience times of waiting. This may mean waiting for healing, provision, restoration, guidance, and many other things. But as we wait, we can get encouragement from Sarah’s story. Sarah held to God’s promises and He fulfilled His promises in His timing, just like He can do in our circumstances.

We can also take comfort in knowing that God sees us in our waiting and is with us in our struggles. We can bring our doubts, fears, and frustrations to Him and find strength in His presence. He is the one who sustains us and gives us the strength to endure.

If you are in a season of waiting, be encouraged by Sarah’s story. Ask Him to give you strength as you wait for His perfect timing in your life.
