Day 32 - Jesus
Read: Matthew 3:17; Matthew 26:39; Mark 15:34
Reflect: Jesus is the ultimate example of faith and trust in God. Throughout His life and ministry, Jesus demonstrated unwavering faith in His Father and submitted Himself to God's will in all things.
From the very beginning of His ministry, Jesus showed His faith in God's plan. When He was baptized by John the Baptist, a voice from heaven spoke, saying "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17) Jesus knew that He had been sent by God for a specific purpose, and He trusted that God would guide Him every step of the way.
As Jesus went about His ministry, He performed many miracles that demonstrated His faith in God's power. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and cast out demons, all through the power of God. He never doubted that God would provide for His needs and the needs of those around Him.
But perhaps the greatest example of Jesus' faith in God was His willingness to go to the cross. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." (Matthew 26:39) Jesus knew that He was about to face unimaginable suffering and death, but He trusted in God's plan and submitted Himself to it.
On the cross, Jesus cried out, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Mark 15:34) In that moment, Jesus felt the weight of the sin of the world on His shoulders, and He felt the separation from God that sin brings. But even in that moment of darkness, Jesus never lost His faith in God. He knew that His sacrifice was necessary to bring salvation to all who would believe in Him. Does God ever call you to do something but it just seems unbearable? How do you respond to God’s call?
Respond: In all things, Jesus demonstrated perfect faith and trust in God. He showed us what it means to submit ourselves to God's will and to trust in His plan, no matter what. If we want to be like anybody, it is definitely Jesus s follow Jesus' example of faith and trust in God in all aspects of your life.
