Day 16 - Apollos
Read: Acts 18:24-28
Reflect: In this passage, we see the story of Apollos, a man who was highly educated, eloquent in speech, and mighty in the scriptures. He had a strong passion for the word of God and was fervent in the spirit. However, he only knew of the baptism of John. But despite this limitation in his knowledge, he demonstrated faith in God by being open to instruction and learning more about the truth. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. Apollos, upon receiving this instruction, was not ashamed but he was eager to share the truth he had learned and became a valuable member of the church.
Apollos' story teaches us about the importance of being open to instruction and learning, even when we think we know everything. It also reminds us that there's always room for growth and that we should be willing to learn from others, so we can be more effective in spreading the truth. His willingness to learn and grow in his faith demonstrates his strong faith in God, and it's an inspiration for us as Christians today to continue to grow in our own faith.
Respond: Take a moment to reflect on any areas of your life where you may be feeling like you know everything and you don't need to learn more. Challenge yourself to be open to instruction and learning, like Apollos was. Remember his example of being eager to share the truth he had learned and be encouraged to do the same in your own
